We are seeking a dedicated Senior Accountant to join our team at a temporary capacity, with the potential to move into a full-time position. This position will report directly to the Corporate Controller and collaborate with all levels of management to support strategic and financial operations. The Senior Accountant will oversee the maintenance of our financial records while contributing to the enhancement of accounting procedures as we implement a new ERP system.
The ideal candidate is a proactive team player with the ability to take ownership of processes and drive organizational improvements.
- Assist the Chief Financial Officer with the implementation of new systems and accounting processes.
- Assist the Corporate Controller with month-end close processes and support the proper and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger in accordance with US GAAP and company policies.
- Participate in the daily operations of the accounting department including general ledger accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and inventory. Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
- Prepare calculations and journal entries for equipment sales, commissions, and Federal Excise Tax.
- Ensure timely preparation of local, state, and federal government reports and tax filings.
- Maintain and update fixed asset records, including depreciation schedules.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist in financial planning, budgeting, and variance analysis to support decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and document accounting processes.
- Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation during audits.
- Perform special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required by Management.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience required. Public accounting experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- 4+ years of general ledger accounting experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
