Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Salt Lake City, Utah. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in managing invoice processing, account coding, and payment operations. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial accuracy and efficiency of our organization.

Responsibilities:

- Process and verify invoices for accuracy, ensuring timely payment to vendors.

- Assign proper account codes to expenses and transactions in compliance with company policies.

- Manage payments through various methods, including Automated Clearing House (ACH) transfers and check runs.

- Coordinate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and address payment-related inquiries.

- Maintain organized records of accounts payable transactions for auditing and reporting purposes.

- Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up to prevent delays in payment.

- Prepare reports detailing accounts payable activities and trends.

- Support the implementation of process improvements to enhance payment workflows.

- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company standards in all accounts payable operations.

- Collaborate with vendors to address inquiries and maintain positive relationships. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role.

- Strong knowledge of account coding and invoice processing.

- Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments and check runs.

- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial records.

- Proficiency in financial software and tools used for accounts payable.

- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and external vendors.

- Solid analytical skills to identify discrepancies and resolve issues effectively.

- Understanding of compliance standards and regulations related to financial operations.
