Accounting Clerk

Job Description

* Perform activities related to accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger

* Invoice clients and new vendor entry

* Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards

* Pay company expenses

* Complete and timely follow through of assigned tasks

* Communicate with vendors, customers and coworkers in a professional manner

* Ability to work independently

* Other assignments and projects as needed

Responsibilities

* Prepares, posts, verifies and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable

* Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions

* Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent account holders to request payment

* Creates statements regarding the current status of customer accounts as requested

* Researches customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of the Office Manger and other staff

* Collaborates with the Office Manager to reconcile accounts receivable on a periodic(at least bi-monthly) basis.

* Copies, files and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as needed

* Relays changes of information to appropriate employees

* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

* Experience with Quick Books preferred

* Attention to details

* Analytical mindset

* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including professional email and phone etiquette

* A passion to learn, grow and advance.
