Trailer Boss is a fast-growing, multi-location trailer retailer focused on delivering a better retail experience in an industry that has historically lacked modernization. We specialize in heavy‑duty, American‑made trailers and serve customers across the Pacific Northwest and beyond through a growing network of retail locations.

As the business continues to expand into new markets, Trailer Boss is investing heavily in operations, systems, digital infrastructure, and customer experience to build a category‑defining retail platform for the trailer industry.

We’re looking for a highly driven and operationally‑minded Controller to help build and scale the financial infrastructure of Trailer Boss. This role will oversee core accounting operations across multiple locations while helping leadership improve visibility, reporting, controls, and financial decision‑making as the company grows.

This is not a traditional back‑office accounting position. The ideal candidate understands how finance supports operations in an inventory‑heavy, multi‑location retail business and is excited to help build scalable systems and processes in a fast‑moving environment.

The Controller will work closely with ownership and leadership on everything from month‑end close and inventory management to forecasting, reporting, and operational improvement initiatives.

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations across multiple retail locations
• Manage month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Build and improve accounting processes, controls, and operational workflows
• Maintain accurate inventory, flooring, and cost accounting oversight
• Develop store‑level KPI reporting and financial visibility for leadership
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Coordinate with external accounting partners, tax professionals, and lenders
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and commission structures
• Support system implementations and operational scaling initiatives
• Partner cross‑functionally with sales, operations, service, and leadership teams
• Help establish scalable financial infrastructure to support continued expansion

• 5+ years of accounting or finance experience, preferably within multi‑location retail, dealership, automotive, RV, powersports, equipment, or inventory‑heavy businesses
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and operational finance
• Experience managing month‑end close and building accounting processes
• High attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced and evolving environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally with operational teams
• Experience with ERP, DMS, or retail accounting systems is preferred
• CPA designation is a plus, but not required
