Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant – Cottonwood Healthcare Full-Time | On-Site

Cottonwood Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing Skilled Nursing Facility organization. This position will support the accounting and finance operations for multiple skilled nursing facilities and work closely with leadership to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

• Assist with monthly financial close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
• Support accounts payable functions as needed
• Prepare documentation for audits
• Review facility expenses
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
• Assist with year-end audit requests and tax-related documentation
• Collaborate with facility administrators and regional leadership on financial matters
• Help improve accounting processes and internal controls

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 2+ years of accounting experience preferred
• Healthcare or Skilled Nursing Facility experience preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Experience with month-end close processes
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
