We are looking to hire a Sr. Cost Accountant specialize in the accounting of product costs recognized in cost of sales and inventory. Varex Imaging (VREX) operates manufacturing plants or service depots in the US, Central America, Europe, and Asia. Reporting to the Inventory Accounting Manager, the Cost Accountant will contribute with a team of Cost Accountants to support global business operations
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyzes the cost of materials, labor, overheads, and other direct or indirect costs associated with products or services
- Coordinates maintenance of standard cost data, and accounts for manufacturing variances, scrap, rework cost, excess & obsolescence, and product returns through direct engagement of our production teams and produces internal metrics to enhance understanding and establish action items to aid in the control of these cos
- Interacts with departments and procedures within the cost accounting function to study and assist in recommending and implementing process improvements
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX, company policies, and industry regulations. Assist in internal and external audits related to cost accounting.
- Prepares month end and year end closing entries and reconciliations.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Cost Accounting experience
- CMA or CPA preferred
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and all Microsoft products
- Experience with SAP preferred
- Work in the office three days a week
