We are seeking a Tax Manager to join our growing tax practice. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with business owners and leadership teams while managing tax engagements, developing staff, and providing strategic tax planning and consulting services. The ideal candidate is CPA eligible or licensed, enjoys client interaction, and thrives in an environment that values autonomy, accountability, and professional growth.
Success in this role requires strong technical tax expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple client engagements and team priorities simultaneously. Client Service & Advisory- Serve as Trusted Advisor:
Act as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for assigned clients. - Build Client Relationships:
Develop and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service. - Provide Tax Planning:
Provide tax planning and consulting services to support client business objectives. - Identify Savings Opportunities:
Identify tax-saving opportunities and recommend practical solutions. - Tax Compliance & Review:
- Manage Engagements:
Manage tax engagements from planning through final delivery. - Review Returns:
Review federal, state, and local tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. - Coach Through Review:
Review work prepared by Associates and Senior Associates while providing coaching and feedback. - Conduct Tax Research:
Conduct tax research and prepare technical memorandums as needed. - Monitor Legislation:
Monitor changes in tax legislation and communicate impacts to clients and internal teams.
Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals.
- Provide technical guidance and support staff development initiatives.

Manage engagement budgets, deadlines, and deliverables. - Uphold Quality Standards:

Support continuous improvement efforts and best practices within the tax department. - Support Business Development:
Assist with business development and growth initiatives as appropriate.
- Strong technical tax knowledge and research capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state tax regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities.

- Five or more years of progressive public accounting tax experience.
- Experience reviewing business and individual tax returns.
- Prior experience supervising and mentoring staff is preferred.
- Experience with tax planning and consulting engagements is preferred.
- Exposure to manufacturing, healthcare, or closely held business clients is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required.
- CPA eligible or actively pursuing CPA licensure required; active CPA license preferred.

- Directly supervise, mentor, and develop a team of approximately one to two Tax Associates or Senior Associates.
