Boart Longyear is seeking a Senior International Tax Analyst to join its Corporate Tax Department in an onsite role based in Salt Lake City, Utah. This position will play a key role in supporting the company's U.S. international tax compliance and global tax reporting functions, including income tax returns, tax provisions, tax planning, and tax research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review international tax calculations, work papers, and reporting related to the Company's global operations.
  • Support the preparation of U.S. international income tax compliance, including Forms 5471, 8858, 1118, and other international reporting requirements, as applicable.
  • Assist with the Company's income tax reporting process, including accounting for income taxes under Australian Accounting Standards (AASB 112 Income Taxes) and related IAS 12 requirements for global operations.
  • Analyze and calculate international tax items, including net CFC tested income (NCTI, formerly GILTI), Subpart F income, foreign tax credits, BEAT, and other cross-border tax considerations.
  • Prepare and maintain earnings and profits, tax basis, and previously taxed earnings and profits schedules for controlled foreign corporations.
  • Support transfer pricing compliance initiatives, including coordination with external advisors and review of transfer pricing documentation.
  • Research and analyze U.S., Australian, and foreign tax issues and provide technical support for tax return positions, tax planning initiatives, and special projects.
  • Monitor international tax law developments and assess the impact of these changes on the Company.
  • Support analysis, data collection, and compliance readiness related to OECD Pillar Two and other global minimum tax requirements.
  • Assist with tax planning projects designed to improve the Company's global tax profile and support business objectives.
  • Partner with accounting, finance, treasury, legal, and operational teams to ensure accurate tax reporting under Australian Accounting Standards and related IFRS requirements.
  • Assist in responding to tax authority inquiries, audits, and information requests related to international tax matters.
  • Support the maintenance and improvement of tax processes, controls, and documentation.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
  • International tax experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional tax experience in a public accounting firm or corporate tax department.
  • Solid understanding of U.S. international tax concepts, including controlled foreign corporations, Subpart F, NCTI/GILTI, foreign tax credits, international information reporting, and transfer pricing.
  • Experience performing tax research and technical analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
