Position SummaryThe Receptionist and Upper School Administrative Coordinator plays a key front‑facing role on the soon to be opening Steiner Campus, serving as the first point of contact for Middle School and Upper School students, families, visitors, and staff. This full‑time, in‑person position supports the Upper School by providing outstanding customer service, administrative assistance, and a warm, welcoming presence at the front desk, while also contributing to campus‑wide events, initiatives, and operational needs.
Working closely with the Upper School Administration, the Receptionist helps manage daily office functions, takes and monitors attendance, and maintains a positive and professional environment. The ideal candidate is organized, pro‑active, tech‑savvy, flexible, culturally competent, and enthusiastic about working in a school community.
The Steiner Campus is scheduled to open on December
2. From August1 until the campus opening, this position will primarily serve in the Upper School at the current Lincoln Street Campus.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors to the school, providing a welcoming and professional public image for Rowland Hall
- Serve as a key point of contact for campus safety by managing visitor check‑in procedures, monitoring front entrance activity, and communicating safety concerns to appropriate personnel
- Build and maintain positive relationships with families, students, faculty, and staff by being a warm and consistent presence at the front desk
- Maintain the visitor log and manage the school's visitor management system for all individuals entering and exiting the campus
- Manage Upper School attendance and communicate Middle School attendance updates received through the front desk to the appropriate personnel
- Answer, screen, and direct phone calls in a courteous and professional manner
- Perform daily administrative duties, including maintaining the reception area and school store, coordinating equipment repairs, ordering supplies, managing inventory, and scheduling through systems such as FMX
- Stay informed about school policies, procedures, and rules to effectively support students, parents, and staff with questions and needs
- Support the Administrative Assistant with daily tasks and assigned projects
- Assist in the planning and execution of All School and Upper School events
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
- Previous administrative/receptionist experience is essential
- A bachelor’s degree and some knowledge of schools are preferred but not required
