Job SummaryThe College of Humanities seeks an Administrative Professional to support the departments of English and Writing & Rhetoric Studies . This role contributes to the day-to-day operations of these units by providing a combination of administrative coordination, transactional support, and problem‑solving.
Working closely with department leadership and administrative partners, this position helps ensure efficient, accurate, and responsive support across a range of academic and operational activities.
Office AdministratorsOversee general office operations. Coordinate all aspects of the daily office environment including, but not limited to, office maintenance, ordering office supplies, and other duties to ensure the office operates smoothly and efficiently. Coordinate office equipment maintenance and initiate facility repair requests with building management and/or outside vendors. Work closely with executives and management on coordination of local culture and engagement initiatives including planning and logistics.
Act as the face of the office and develop and maintain relationships with building management services, vendors, caterers, and various internal departments. Coordinate and schedule internal/external meetings, and conference/video calls on behalf of leaders. May be responsible for managing office budget and contract/price negotiations with vendors. May perform other duties including accounting support, reception, payroll, facilities, maintenance, supply management, and various back office functions.

Process reimbursements, honoraria, and travel for faculty, students, and guests
Support purchasing and reconciliation activities, including use of university systems (e.g., UShop, PCard)
Maintain organized records and assist with basic budget tracking
Prepare graduate student teaching offer letters
Process personnel transactions (ePAFs) and support semester hiring processes
Coordinate with HR and payroll offices to ensure timely processing
Coordinate administrative aspects of faculty hiring
Support review processes (e.g., retention, promotion, tenure) by managing materials and communications
Serve as a point of contact between faculty and administrative offices on matters such as leave, retirement, and related processes
Coordinate facility and maintenance requests and serve as liaison with campus service units
Assist with office space assignments, access, and general office logistics
Support front office operations and maintain shared resources and equipment
