EHS / HSE Manager
Mountain Crane is seeking an experienced Director of Construction Safety to lead our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) efforts across all construction operations. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety programs that ensure compliance with federal and state OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
The Director of Construction Safety will provide strategic leadership, conduct risk analyses, partner with project teams, and help shape a Safety Strong culture across Mountain Crane. This is a hands‑on, highly visible role that works closely with project managers, subcontractors, clients, and internal leadership.
Starting salary for this role begins at $135,000 annually. Final compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit. Pay is negotiable for highly qualified candidates.
This role requires regular travel to job sites. Travel needs may vary and can occasionally arise on short notice based on project and safety needs.
Responsibilities- Lead, develop, and clearly articulate a safety plan, objectives, strategies, policies, and procedures in order to develop Mountain’s safety vision.
- Champion a proactive, best in class Safety Strong culture across all teams.
- Maintain expertise in federal, state, and industry safety regulations; interface with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other regulatory bodies.
- Develop, implement, and enforce company wide safety policies, procedures, and HSE programs.
- Oversee hazard assessments, jobsite audits, inspections, and corrective plans.
- Analyze incident trends and inspection data to improve safety performance.
- Deliver and oversee safety training, orientations, toolbox talks, and certification requirements.
- Conduct pre-project safety reviews and visit active job sites to assess conditions and compliance.
- Collaborate with project managers, leadership, and field teams to develop and implement solutions to safety related
- Lead investigations of incidents, accidents, and near misses; identify root causes and implement corrective measures.
- Partner with the General Safety Director to ensure safety admin staff is supported in their efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- OSHA 500 Certification
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) (required)
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards in construction.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct safety training and develop safety programs.
- Ability to travel to job sites throughout the US.
- First Aid/CPR certification
- 2 weeks accrued year 1

- 4 weeks accrued years 5+
