Job Description & How to Apply Below

Are you passionate about building complex, high-rise concrete structures that shape skylines and communities? Do you thrive in a role where your expertise in planning, sequencing, and operations coordination makes a real impact? If so, we’d love to talk to you. At this confidential Construction firm, we’re looking for a Senior Concrete Estimator who brings not just technical skill, but leadership, collaboration, and a deep understanding of vertical concrete construction—think buildings, not parking garages.

Our typical projects start at $25 million and go up from there, so we’re looking for someone who’s comfortable operating at that scale and complexity.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY
  • Lead all estimating efforts for vertical concrete scopes, including conceptual, schematic, design development, and bid-level estimates.
  • Collaborate closely with operations teams to align estimates with construction sequencing, manpower loading, and hoisting plans.
  • Develop and maintain detailed takeoffs using Plan Swift, WinnS, and Excel, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and logistics teams to validate crane requirements, formwork cycles, and pour sequences.
  • Analyze and incorporate site logistics, access constraints, and vertical transportation into pricing strategies.
  • Prepare and present clear, professional estimate packages to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Lead internal estimate reviews and ensure timely delivery of pricing to support project milestones.
  • Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to validate pricing and availability of materials and services.
  • Participate in preconstruction planning, including schedule development and general conditions pricing.
  • Support business development efforts by representing the company in client meetings and industry events.
  • Assist in bid strategy development, subcontractor selection, and bid-day coordination.
  • Support project teams during buyout and early construction phases.
  • Attend and contribute to project kickoff meetings, logistics planning sessions, and pre-bid walkthroughs.
  • Maintain historical cost data and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating tools and processes.
YOU’RE READY FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in concrete estimating, with a focus on vertical structures.
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring a team of estimators or engineers.
  • Strong understanding of formwork systems, reinforcement detailing, concrete mix designs, and vertical construction logistics.
  • Proficiency in Plan Swift, WinnS, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools and ability to interpret and influence project schedules.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
