Engage Contracting is looking for an Pre-Construction Manager to join our team!
We are seeking a Pre-Construction Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for leading and coordinating the design development process on commercial construction projects. This role bridges the gap between clients, architects, engineers, and the construction team, ensuring that design intent aligns with project budgets, schedules, and constructibility.
Major Duties- Identify required design consultants (architects, engineers, specialty consultants).
- Issue RFPs, assist in scope alignment, and coordinate contract execution.
- Ensure proper integration of GC expectations into design consultant agreements.
- Collaborate with client, stakeholders, and internal teams to define project goals.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive design schedule aligned with project milestones (30/60/90/CD).
- Track deliverables and ensure on-time submittals from design team.
- Coordinate early cost modeling and estimates with Pre-construction team.
- Lead design-to-budget efforts, including value engineering (VE) and constructibility reviews at each design milestone.
- Facilitate collaboration between consultants, subcontractors, and owner reps.
- Ensure all design documents are submitted, reviewed, and approved in accordance with project schedule.
- Coordinate internal review by pre-construction, estimating, and operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction is preferred.
- 4+ years of pre-construction experience at a general contractor
- 5+ years of construction experience at a general contractor
- Communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish trust, develop relationships, and maintain confidence.
- Ability to work well with all organizational levels to influence and negotiate outcomes.
- Effective communication skills – both written and oral.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Well developed computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
