** Environmental Field Manager
** to oversee environmental compliance during the construction phase of our client’s transmission project in
** N
* *** orthern Nevada and Southern Idaho**. This is a full-time (60-72 hours per week) limited-term role for a duration of
** 18 months, with the possibility of extension
** beginning in March 2026.
** RESPONSIBILITIES:
*** Manage the daily on‐the‐ground implementation of the environmental monitoring scope
* Interact directly with the construction contractor and project-related personnel, including daily scheduling of monitoring support for the construction contractor’s crews
* Report to the client’s representative on a daily basis
* Track construction activities to forecast monitoring requirements
* Oversee the daily assignments of individual biological and cultural monitors
* Manage the timing of clearance surveys
* Serve as the main point of contact for any field matters.
* Conduct environmental training for construction personnel.
* Conduct and oversee field inspections, conducting environmental inspections of construction activities, and field survey work as directed.
* Verifying that the limits of authorized construction work areas and locations of access roads are properly marked before clearing;
* Interacting with and serving as a point of contact with agency officials (with the BLM CIC on a daily basis), regulatory agency staff, landowners, contractors, clients, and other project members, and conducting required agency notifications.
* Review and implement project documents and provide direction, support, and critical judgment on environmental compliance issues.
* Provide technical leadership, support and direction to field staff. This includes the coordination of daily Environmental Inspector and Resource Monitor schedules and conducting morning construction meetings.
* Critically assess environmental conditions in the field to evaluate potential environmental impacts from construction.
* Evaluate potential issues and concerns ahead of construction activities.
* Oversee the proper implementation of mitigation measures.
* Oversee and verify flagging and signage of waterbody and wetland boundaries, cultural and biological resources exclusion zones, refueling zones, or areas with special requirements within the construction work area.
* Inspect and document compliance with a project's environmental requirements by overseeing daily written inspection reports that provide up-to-date and consistent written and photo documentation of activities observed in the field.
* Identify, document, and oversee corrective actions as needed to bring an activity back into compliance.
* Identifying erosion/sediment control and soil stabilization needs.
* Participate in various construction meetings and planning meetings.
* Prepare documentation to support requests for variances from environmental permits.
* Evaluate restoration activities and conduct compaction testing as required.
* Compliance with ERM’s rigorous safety program.
* Performing additional tasks as assigned or required.
** REQUIREMENTS:
** The role of an Environmental Field Manager requires meticulous oversight by highly skilled individuals stationed in the field throughout construction to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. ERM’s onsite Environmental Field Manager will drive frequent, consistent communication among all parties. The Environmental Field Manager will maintain frequent communication with the CIC Monitoring Team and the contractor. The Environmental Field Manager will attend the daily construction meeting as needed.
The daily construction meeting is critical for understanding the daily work plan, upcoming construction sequencing and schedule, and for providing an opportunity to review pertinent environmental requirements.
