Job DetailsWe are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Permanent Field Superintendent to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to assume a pivotal role in the fastest growing construction company. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all field operations on the construction site and ensuring that self-performed and subcontracted trade work is in compliance with contract documents and the project schedule.
This role requires a deep understanding of the construction industry, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for achieving project objectives through effective teamwork and leadership.
- Oversee all stages of project life cycle and manage construction procedures to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Supervise and manage the onsite construction team, subcontractors, and other labor forces to ensure efficiency and adherence to safety standards.
- Develop a high-performance team through supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring.
- Manage the procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
- Review and become familiar with the schedule and budget, and ensure adherence to these.
- Conduct risk management processes to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other construction and building specialists.
- Implement and enforce site-specific safety procedures and promote a culture of safety awareness.
- Maintain daily logs, quality control reports, accident reports, and other documentation as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a construction superintendent role.
- Proven experience in contract management, subcontractor management, risk management, quality control, budgeting, scheduling, safety management, team leadership, materials management, and new construction.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in construction management software and other industry-related technological tools.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
- Understanding of construction procedures, material, and project management principles.
- Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
- Good knowledge of MS Office and construction/project management software.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
- A team player with leadership abilities.
- PMP or an equivalent certification would be considered an asset.
