Stantec is seeking a construction leader with field experience in the mining sector to oversee construction management activities on mining projects in the Arizona Area. After being onboarded, this person may work on more than one site, collaborating with a mining team that provides oversight of a construction contractor. Most of your time will be on site, occasionally visiting the Stantec offices.

Qualified candidates will have relevant field experience and have worked on projects with above ground, below ground, and shaft/headframe/hoist house construction activity. This leadership role involves daily interaction with the client, Stantec team, workers, general contractors, and subcontractors. Work schedules are project‑dependent and closer to assignment. Candidates should reside in or near Arizona or be willing to relocate or travel to remote site locations and the PMO offices.

• Support planning, construction, commissioning and start‑up phases of projects; review owner and construction contractor documents; plan construction execution; implement and manage work and construction contractors during construction.
• Review the General Contractor’s Construction Execution Plan and provide risk and opportunity input.
• Coordinate and communicate with General Contractors and Owner teams.
• Provide safety leadership to maintain a safe mining work environment.
• Oversee day‑to‑day construction management to ensure projects are built in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
• Ensure contractor compliance with plans, specifications, and safety requirements.
• Serve as the primary interface between client, contractor, oversight representatives, regulatory agencies, and utility stakeholders.
• Monitor progress and delays of contractor’s project schedule.
• Review daily inspection reports and material test reports for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
• Coordinate document control and construction records management.
• Review plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, construction schedules, shop drawings, change orders, pay applications, and quality assurance items.
• Coordinate project outage integration plans with multiple stakeholders.
• Support testing, commissioning, and start‑up activities performed by others.
• Manage the post‑construction phase, preparing and submitting final deliverables, reviewing final pay requests and punch lists, recommending final completion, tracking warranties, and preparing final invoicing.

• Experience in mining construction environments.
• Experience with safety procedures in SIMOPs project conditions.
• Experience in mechanical completion, commissioning, and start‑up activities.
• Exposure to civil, structural, mechanical, conveyance, shaft sinking, and construction; electrical, instrumentation, head frames, and hoist house activities and operation.
• Experience working as a client representative and overseeing General Contractors.
• Experience with safety procedures in a mining environment (MSHA).
• Experience managing Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Inspection Services.
• Experience managing contractor schedules, project controls, and contractor payment certification and release.
• Experience supporting project testing, commissioning, and start‑up activities.
• Strong communication, coordination, and presentation skills.

• Minimum of 10 years of Construction Management Experience.
