Experienced Excavation Foreman

The Foreman manages all equipment, labor, and materials on assigned projects to achieve timely and profitable completion. An ideal candidate must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, strong communication, and professional client‑customer service interactions.
Summary of Functions:
An excavation project foreman troubleshoots routine issues that occur on the job site. In addition to ensuring safety rules are always followed, they develop work schedules based upon the availability of employees or contractors and weather conditions.
- Daily supervision of crew and potentially subcontractors on one or more sites
- Assist Field Supervisor, Project Managers and Operations Manager in managing projects according to design, budget, quality, and schedule
- Effectively and efficiently manage production on multiple projects in a deadline‑driven environment
- Provide technical assistance, including interpretation of drawings, recommendations of construction methods and equipment
- Inspect work in‑progress and completed work to ensure compliance with contract, codes and specifications
- Maintain good relationships with internal personnel and external resources including clients, subcontractors, suppliers, architects/engineers, etc.
- Develop quality team members; provide quality control and support
- Implement and enforce safety and health rules and standards
- Build and manage detailed short‑term schedules in partnership with Field Supervisor, Project Managers, and Operations Manager ensuring needed resources are available on time and all activities take place on or ahead of schedule
- Skilled equipment operator – specifically excavator
- Supervisor of onsite personnel and subcontractors
- Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients
- Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications
- Ability to develop employees that can grow within the company while ensuring they achieve their career goals
- Ability to use automatic level, GPS equipment, laser
- Ability to read and understand site plans
- Knowledge of soil conditions
- Minimum of 5 years excavation experience and 2 years foreman role preferred
- Experience in the commercial excavation field
- Strong leadership qualities
- Experience supervising multiple sites
- Deadline and detail oriented
- Valid U.S. Driver's License and clean DMV record
- Availability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary
- Work in extreme (hot and cold) weather conditions safely
- Lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a non‑consistent basis
- CDL with ability to drive skid steers and mid‑to‑heavy equipment
Skills and Abilities
- Broad understanding of construction industry; specific expertise in earthwork and utilities
- Familiarity with drawings, blueprints, specifications, and terms and conditions of project requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skill
- Company Truck
- Paid Time Off (2 weeks)
- Assistance with relocation expenses and flying out for 2‑day trail if needed
Waiting period of 12 months for PTO.
Schedule- Monday to Friday 7am – 6pm, with occasional Saturday shifts
- Wasatch Front, surrounding areas & possible jobs in Southern Utah
Full‑time
Pay$26–$35 per hour (BOE)
