DB Mechanical is seeking a motivated Construction Management Intern with a strong interest or specialization in Mechanical/HVAC systems to join our team. In this role, you will work directly alongside project managers, and estimators, to support the planning, coordination, estimating, and execution of mechanical and plumbing construction projects. This position offers hands‑on experience with real‑world mechanical and plumbing operations, submittals, and field management.

Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination: Assist with the review and processing of Submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), and Shop Drawings related to HVAC equipment and ductwork layout.
  • Estimating & Takeoffs: Support the estimating team in performing quantity takeoffs, analyzing mechanical plans, and reviewing vendor/subcontractor quotes.
  • Field Support: Conduct periodic site walkthroughs to monitor installation progress, manpower needs, verify compliance with mechanical drawings, and assist with quality control and safety checks.
  • Scheduling & Logs: Help update project schedules, track equipment and material deliveries, and maintain accurate daily safety forms, and .
  • Subcontractor Liaison: Participate in coordination meetings with mechanical subcontractors, general contractors, and design teams.
Qualifications
  • Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Associate degree program in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Building Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Technical Aptitude: basic ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, HVAC schematics, and construction specifications.
  • Software

    Skills:

    Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite Excel, Word. Other construction software will be introduced including scheduling software, Procore, Blue Beam Etc.
  • Core

    Skills:

    Strong communication, organizational skills, hardworking and dependable. Must have reliable transportation.
  • Site Requirements: Valid driver’s license and willingness to wear required PPE Hard hat, safety glasses, and close toed shoes during site visits.
