We are hiring a Chief Electrical Estimator in Salt Lake City, UT, to lead the estimating department and oversee all aspects of electrical preconstruction, conceptual budgeting, and bidding.
This senior leadership position is ideal for an experienced electrical estimating professional who can guide a team, manage complex high-value bids, improve departmental processes, and support long-term revenue growth.
What You’ll Do- Lead, mentor, and manage the electrical estimating team
- Oversee all phases of the estimating and bidding process
- Review and approve major bids, conceptual estimates, and preconstruction budgets
- Develop estimating standards, procedures, templates, and departmental best practices
- Manage conceptual budgeting, preconstruction planning, and preliminary scheduling
- Support executive leadership with revenue planning and forecasting
- Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents
- Oversee job walks, pre-bid meetings, and client presentations
- Manage multiple simultaneous, high-value, and technically complex bids
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and industry partners
- Facilitate accurate and organized project handoffs from estimating to operations
- Provide strategic guidance on risk, constructability, pricing, and bid strategy
- Promote a positive, dependable, and solutions-oriented team environment
- 10+ years of electrical construction estimating experience
- 5+ years in a senior, lead, or supervisory estimating position
- Licensed Electrician or substantial electrical construction background
- Strong knowledge of commercial, industrial, healthcare, and mission-critical electrical systems
- Experience managing multiple complex, high-value bids simultaneously
- Expert understanding of electrical construction means and methods
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, preconstruction, and conceptual estimating
- Significant design-build and design-assist estimating experience
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, influence, and develop estimating professionals
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and decision-making skills
- Ability to perform accurately under tight deadlines
- Proficiency with estimating software, digital plan-review tools, and preconstruction platforms
- Advanced experience with Accubid Anywhere and Bluebeam
- Experience with Microsoft Project or comparable scheduling software
- Strong background supporting large-scale electrical construction projects
