Salt Lake City, Utah | Full-Time | Primarily In-Office

Position Overview

J-Corp Development is seeking a motivated, highly organized professional who wants to build a career in construction project management or estimating
.

This is a hands-on development position working directly with J-Corp's General Manager, Project Managers, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors
. The position will support multiple projects and provide exposure to the full construction process- from preconstruction and estimating through active construction and closeout.

Our team structure provides direct access to company leadership and the opportunity to work across multiple sides of the business rather than being limited to one narrow project function.

This is not initially an independent Project Manager or Estimator position. Responsibilities and ownership will increase as knowledge, judgment, follow-through, and capability are demonstrated, with the goal of developing the right individual into a Project Manager or Estimator role
.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management & Operations Support
  • Support the General Manager and Project Managers with project priorities, coordination, deadlines, meetings, documentation, and follow-up.
  • Assist with RFIs, submittals, change documentation, meeting agendas, meeting notes, action items, and project correspondence.
  • Coordinate assigned calls, meetings, site visits, due dates, and communications with subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and project teams.
  • Help maintain organized contracts, proposals, budgets, drawings, permits, schedules, correspondence, and project records.
  • Identify missing information, outstanding decisions, and unresolved items and communicate them to the appropriate team member.
  • Take increasing ownership of recurring project coordination responsibilities as experience and capability develop.
  • Read and review plans and specifications to develop an understanding of project scope, construction terminology, sequencing, and trade coordination.
  • Assist with subcontractor and vendor solicitation, bid distribution, follow-up, and confirmation of pricing and availability.
  • Organize subcontractor proposals, bidder lists, scope information, product data, and estimating inputs.
  • Assist with bid comparisons, scope review, proposal preparation, and preconstruction coordination.
  • Participate in project and subcontractor meetings to gain practical understanding of how projects are estimated, planned, bought out, and constructed.
  • Develop toward greater estimating responsibility and independent project coordination as knowledge and experience increase.
Work Structure & Development

The General Manager will establish priorities and coordinate workload across company and project needs. This position may support the General Manager directly or be assigned to assist Project Managers and project teams where additional coordination or follow-through is needed.

Training and review will be provided initially, with increasing independence expected as recurring responsibilities are learned.

The position is primarily in-office during training, with regular interaction with project teams and job sites. Limited hybrid flexibility may be considered after consistent performance, reliable communication, and independent execution are demonstrated.

Qualifications
  • Strong organization, communication, follow-through, initiative, and attention to detail.
  • Genuine interest in developing a career in construction Project Management or Estimating.
  • Comfortable communicating professionally with subcontractors, vendors, clients, and project teams.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and communicate early when information, direction, or capacity is an issue.
  • Willing and motivated to learn construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, budgets, schedules, and project documentation.
  • Comfortable learning and working in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and other construction management tools
    .
  • Construction experience or Construction Management education is preferred, but demonstrated initiative, accountability, and aptitude are equally important.
