This position will primarily work remotely while staying closely connected with our field and management teams.
The role will initially focus on estimating and bidding concrete construction projects, with an emphasis on commercial work. Previous estimating experience is preferred, but it is not required for a candidate with extensive concrete construction experience and a strong willingness to learn. Ridge Rock LLC will provide estimating training to the right candidate.
As the St. George, UT division grows, the Estimator will take on increasing responsibility, including project management and helping support the division's day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate has hands-on knowledge of concrete construction, can read structural and civil plans and specifications, and is motivated to develop the skills needed to produce accurate, competitive bids.
Responsibilities- Review structural and civil plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, addenda, and other bid documents.

- Estimate labor, equipment, concrete, reinforcing steel, formwork, materials, trucking, subcontractor, and production costs.
- Request and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare clear, complete proposals, including scope, qualifications, exclusions, and alternates.
- Identify project risks, site constraints, schedule concerns, and missing or conflicting information.
- Track bid opportunities, deadlines, revisions, and follow-up items.
- Communicate with owners, general contractors, vendors, and internal team members during the bidding process.
- Assist with project handoff after award so operations understand the estimated scope, quantities, assumptions, and budget.
- Take on project-management responsibilities as the division grows, including project planning, scheduling, cost tracking, purchasing, coordination with field crews, and communication with customers.
- Help develop processes, relationships, and opportunities that support the long-term growth of the St. George division.
- Maintain organized estimating records and help update historical cost and production information.
- Extensive concrete construction experience is required; commercial concrete experience is strongly preferred.
- Previous estimating experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong concrete knowledge and a willingness to learn will be trained in estimating.
- Experience with excavation and asphalt work is a bonus.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and civil plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports.
- Strong math, quantity takeoff, organization, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Comfortable using estimating and takeoff software, Microsoft Excel, email, and cloud-based file systems.
- Able to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and communicate consistently in a remote environment.
- Familiarity with St. George, UT and the Southern Utah construction market is a plus.
- Project-management experience is a plus, but qualified candidates with the ability and desire to grow into that responsibility are encouraged to apply.
- Valid driver's license and ability to attend occasional site visits and in-person meetings.
- Primarily remote work with flexibility in day-to-day scheduling.
- The opportunity to help build a new division and grow into a larger leadership and project-management role.
- A key role in helping the company pursue and win profitable work.
- Direct communication with company leadership and the field team.
- Competitive compensation based on experience.
- 401(k) retirement plan.
- Performance-based bonus program.
- Paid time off.
