Job DescriptionThe Church History Museum is pleased to welcome a 40 hour per week, paid, curatorial summer internship beginning May 2026 until August 2026.
The Church History Museum provides engaging experiences for individuals to connect with the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the growing spiritual, artistic, and cultural legacies of its people. The curatorial intern supports this mission by working with the art curator one‑on‑one to conduct research and develop exhibitions. A special project this season includes researching specific collection items in preparation for a publication highlighting treasures of the Church History Museum collection.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include
- Conduct historical research to support museum projects
- Submitting reports about and obtaining information for intellectual property licensing
- Participate in project team meetings
- Perform other tasks according to project needs and individual capabilities and interests
The ideal candidate has
- An excitement about Latter‑day Saint visual culture
- Excellent research and writing skills
- The ability to work independently but also collaboratively with staff members

- Letter of intent providing a brief account of how you hope to benefit from this internship and what you feel you could contribute to the Church History Museum
- Recent research paper (5-10 pages)
- List of three references
Qualification:
- Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree (or recently graduated in the last year) in art history, visual arts, humanities, history, or a related field
