Job Description

This Project Architect (Architect II) role supports the design and delivery of projects across a variety of sectors in Salt Lake City. It is ideal for a developing architecture professional with a strong foundation in design and documentation who is eager to grow within a collaborative, mentorship-driven studio environment. You will contribute across multiple phases of projects, take on increasing responsibility over time, and help ensure both design excellence and strong overall team performance.

Responsibilities

+ Support architectural design, documentation, and coordination across multiple phases of projects.

+ Assist in preparing drawings and models for schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.

+ Apply working knowledge of building systems, building codes, and construction methods to project work.

+ Coordinate with internal team members and external consultants on assigned project components to ensure alignment and quality.

+ Support the development of client presentation materials, including graphics, renderings, and diagrams.

+ Assist with construction administration tasks, including managing RFIs, reviewing submittals, and preparing addenda.

+ Maintain organization, consistency, and quality across all project deliverables.

+ Collaborate closely with leadership staff and contribute positively to a team-oriented studio environment.

+ Participate in professional development opportunities and actively engage in a mentorship-focused culture.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a closely related field.

+ Typically 5+ years of professional architectural experience.

+ Proficiency in Revit for design, documentation, and coordination.

+ Basic understanding of building codes, construction documentation, and coordination practices.

+ Working knowledge of building systems and construction methods.

+ Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate effectively with team members and consultants.

+ Strong organization skills to manage project tasks and maintain consistency across deliverables.

+ Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to address design and coordination challenges.

+ Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a studio environment.

+ Actively pursuing architectural licensure is preferred, though licensure is not required.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Familiarity with Sketch Up for 3D modeling and design visualization.

+

Experience with additional design tools such as Rhino and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.

+ Experience supporting construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittals, and addenda.

+ Background in schematic design, design development, and construction document production.

+ Interest in ongoing professional development, including continuing education and licensure support.

+ Ability to contribute to client presentations through graphics, renderings, and diagrams.

+ Comfort working in a mentorship-driven environment with clear growth opportunities.

Work Environment

This role is based in an office environment with a standard Monday through Friday schedule, operating on a 9/80 schedule that provides every other Friday off. The studio offers flexible work schedule options, including alternative schedules, to support work-life balance. The culture emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and clear professional growth paths. The work involves daily use of architectural design and documentation tools such as Revit, Sketch Up, and other digital platforms.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
