Details
University of Utah Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition seeks an Academic Clinician focused on Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) to join an established and growing IBD section. The faculty team includes 4 colorectal surgeons, 3 RN clinical coordinators, 2.5 physician assistants, and 4 IBD‑focused gastroenterology faculty. This is the only IBD Center in a five‑state region; it hosts the nationally renowned annual Rocky Mountain IBD conference.
The University of Utah Health aims to strengthen its program into a Center of Excellence.
The position combines outpatient IBD clinic, general endoscopy, and inpatient GI consult rotations. Academic duties include working directly with gastroenterology fellows and medical house staff, participating in weekly educational conferences, and engaging in clinical, translational, or basic science research. Faculty hold appointments at the University of Utah Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine and may also be appointed at Salt Lake City Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Huntsman Cancer Institute.
University of Utah is located in Salt Lake City, a major referral center for a five‑state region. The campus sits in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains at the western edge of the Rocky Mountains, close to ski resorts and national parks.
Minimum Qualifications- Medical Degree; board certified in Internal Medicine and board eligible or board certified in Gastroenterology.
