Overview
The Division of Oncology, Department of Internal Medicine (DOIM), at the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine, at the University of Utah and Huntsman Cancer Institute are recruiting an outstanding clinician specializing in gastrointestinal cancers. The selected applicant will be appointed as Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor on the clinical or tenure track depending on experience and qualifications. They will provide clinical care and lead clinical or translational research on our main campus, community, and affiliate hospital locations.
This position is part of Huntsman Cancer Institute's strategic priority to provide fully integrated, high value cancer care across the Intermountain West. As part of a growing translational research initiative, the successful candidate will have an opportunity to participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop clinical research programs.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient clinical care for patients with gastrointestinal cancers.
- Lead clinical or translational research projects across main campus, community sites, and affiliate hospitals.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to design and execute clinical research programs.
- Mentor fellows, trainees, and junior faculty within the Division of Oncology.
- Engage in scholarly activities, including publication of research findings and presentation at national conferences.
- Contribute to the growth and expansion of the Division’s clinical operations and research capacity in the Northern Utah area and beyond.
- Medical Degree (MD or DO).
- Board certified in Internal Medicine and eligible for ABIM board certification in Oncology.
- Eligible for a Utah Medical License.
- Track record of academic oncology activity with evidence of clinical practice, original research contributions, national/international recognition, extramural funding, and progressive leadership/administrative experience.
