Work Schedule Summary
Mentors will work a maximum of 19 hours each week depending on the program schedule. Working hours will consist of virtual tutoring, team meetings, monthly in-person field trips, and some administrative duties. Mentors are expected to work one Saturday a month during program activities.

Job SummaryThe PATHS (Providing Access Throughout High School) program is a cohort-based pre-college program for high school students who are considered first-generation students. The goal of PATHS is for students to achieve high school success and college readiness. Students participate year-round starting the summer before their freshmen year of high school until graduation. The program provides access to university resources and a learning community to prepare students for post-secondary success.
PATHS is looking for mentors to be experienced and trusted advisors who form supportive, coaching relationships and assist students in completing high school and applying for college. Mentors are expected to:
Create supportive and enriching experiences for students that meet the program’s mission, vision, and values.
Help students manage academics and homework through weekly communication and follow-ups.
Guide students on time management and other study skills to help them improve their performance in school.
Share advice and knowledge about high school and college to give them context and basic knowledge about what to expect in higher education.
Set appointments with students on a monthly basis to keep students accountable.
Supervise monthly Saturday engagement events from September – May.
Track student progress and data using a variety of system tools such as Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.
Work with fellow mentors to plan and implement activities during the school year.
Attend mandatory weekly team meetings.
Conduct themselves professionally and represent the program while complying with all the rules of partner sites and activities.
Be positive role models to students.
High School Diploma, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are required.
The incumbent will be required to pass a Bureau of Criminal Investigation ( BCI ) Background check

Have an interest in positive youth development and/or youth mentoring.
Majors in education, social work, psychology, sociology, or other related fields.
