The School Psychology Program at the University of Utah invites applications for a career line Assistant Professor position beginning Fall 2026.
The School Psychology Program is comprised of an APA and NASP-accredited Ph.D. program and a NASP-accredited EdS program. With the addition of this hire, there will be six full time faculty positions - four tenure-line and two career line. The School Psychology Program seeks candidates with experience in any substantive area of school psychology but is especially interested in candidates with applied interests in academic or behavioral interventions (including PBIS and RTI), school-based mental health, curriculum-based measurements, or applied research with children who have neurodevelopmental disabilities.
The program is seeking candidates with strong teaching skills and potential to professional organizations at the state and national level, as well as an interest in growing the program and collaborating with colleagues at the program, department, college, and university level.

Qualifications and Responsibilities:
We invite applications from individuals with a record of potential excellence in teaching and mentorship of Specialist and Doctoral-level graduate students. We seek a faculty member who will contribute to training, practice, and research emphases that align with APA and NASP objectives, as well as allow for collaboration with other faculty within the College of Education and across the University of Utah.
The expected teaching load is four courses per semester, with a particular need for instruction in the area of assessment, intervention, and supervision. Additional opportunities exist for teaching courses related to areas of interest.
Required Qualifications:
A doctoral degree from a school psychology program approved by APA; a record of or potential for excellence in teaching and mentorship; eligibility for licensure as a psychologist in Utah.
Preferred Qualifications:
Credential as a licensed Psychologist, Credential as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist; credential as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, allowing for supervision of students; experience working as a school psychologist in a school-based setting; previous experience teaching courses at the graduate level; experience in delivery of services to minoritized students- supporting program and University-level goals in providing effective school psychology services to students across Utah.
Responsibilities of the position will include:
* Design, teach, and coordinate core courses at the graduate level in critical areas of school psychology.
* Participate and provide leadership in interdisciplinary initiatives across the College of Education and University level
* Provide appropriate levels of service at the program, college, and university levels, as well as to the community and profession.
The University of Utah is located in the foothills of the Wasatch mountains in Salt Lake City. Salt Lake City is the center of a metropolitan area with a population of approximately one million residents, with extensive arts and cultural activities. The area has received international recognition for its new light rail system, foodie culture, downtown renewal, exceptional access to outdoor recreation, and diversity.
