Prelim PGY1 Resident
The University of Utah General Surgery Residency Program is accepting applications for a PGY1 Preliminary General Surgery Resident to begin in July 2026. As a nationally recognized tertiary care academic medical center and the only NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center in the Mountain West, the University of Utah offers a high-acuity, academically focused and supportive surgical training environment. Our residents train in an excellent environment with access to a broad spectrum of operative and non-operative patient care and are well prepared for both competitive fellowships and community practice.
We are looking for a preliminary PGY1 general surgery resident to start in July 2026.

- Medical School Diploma and Transcript
- Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE/Dean's Letter)
- USMLE Transcript (all attempts and scores)
- Three Letters of Recommendation to be sent directly by letter writers to the program at gensurg-residencyh.edu with the following subject line (PGY1 prelim-candidate name)
- ECFMG Certification if applicable.
