Job Summary

Provide clinical education and training to physicians, students, nurses, and other healthcare professionals and organizations. Select or create materials and appropriate delivery methods for programs. Possess excellent level of nutrition knowledge. Serve as liaison between the organization and customers. Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and may have an advanced degree, certification, or additional professional training. Requires moderate skill set and proficiency in discipline.

Conduct work assignments of increasing complexity, under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment.

Responsibilities

Provides individualized nutrition assessment, counseling, and education, for management of health conditions to University of Utah Employees and students, and community members.
Delivers and may support development of lifestyle change programming.
Additionally, provides mentorship, education, and guidance to NUIP graduate students that are completing assistantships, capstones and internships.

Minimum Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT : 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

Clinical Education Specialist,, II: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience..
