Program Facilitators will help support youth leadership and community engagement activities through UHIP. This role works closely with program staff and community partners to co-lead 4-H youth mentoring activities, assist with peer leadership programming, and support practicum coordination. Facilitators also play an important role in outreach, partnership development, and youth engagement connected to UHIP project goals
Responsibilities
- Co-lead 4-H youth mentoring and leadership development activities
- Support implementation of peer leadership programming for youth participants
- Assist with practicum coordination and collaboration with community-based partners
- Help organize and facilitate youth engagement events, workshops, and outdoor activities
- Support community outreach efforts and promote program participation
- Build and maintain positive relationships with schools, agencies, and community partners
- Assist with curriculum delivery and youth-facing programming aligned with UHIP goals
- Participate in ongoing planning meetings, trainings, and program check-ins
- Provide logistical and on-the-ground support during program events and activities
- Document participation, activities, and basic program outcomes as needed
Qualifications
- Experience working with youth, community programs, or outreach activities
- Background in Community Health Work, social services, education, or related field
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus

- Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations and community partners
- Comfortable facilitating or supporting group activities
- Familiarity with community-based program coordination or outreach

Program Facilitators work in a dynamic and collaborative environment that includes both indoor and outdoor settings such as schools, community spaces, and outdoor recreation sites, with some local travel and occasional evening or weekend hours depending on program needs. The role requires regular interaction with youth, families, and community partners in active, group-based programming. Physical demands include standing, walking, and participating in outdoor activities for extended periods, as well as occasionally lifting or carrying program materials (generally up to 25 pounds).
The position also involves significant mental and emotional engagement, including managing multiple responsibilities, adapting to changing program needs, maintaining professionalism in fast-paced youth environments, and responding appropriately to diverse participant needs while working collaboratively as part of a team.
