Adjunct Welding Instructor

Under general supervision the adjunct welding instructor will teach and facilitate student learning in a competency-based welding program, preparing students for industrial employment and certifications as required. This is a pooled position. The department reviews applications as positions become available. Please attach resume or curriculum vitae, copy of transcripts, or other documents for consideration. 1. Provide instruction and facilitate students' learning in Oxy-acetylene welding, shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, flux cored arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, and blueprint reading (including welding symbols leading to industry certifications and employment.
2. Accommodate various learning styles, especially hands-on training, not limited to the classroom.
3. Advise students on the program requirements and their progress through the courses. Assess student's abilities and provide appropriate documentation and feedback.
4. Collaborate with other instructor(s) in the department to aid in development and coordination of quality classroom activities and curriculum as required.
5. Provide an industry viewpoint to the training program so that students will be prepared to enter the work force.

7. Support college and SLTC policies and guidelines.
8. Must have good work ethic, punctuality, and attendance habits.
9. Become familiar with, and abide by, all college policies with immediate priority given to those policies that govern interactions with colleagues, staff, administrators, and departments throughout the organization. 10. Maintain professional etiquette in communications with students, staff, faculty, and administrators. 11. Provides appropriate and timely feedback for all assignments. 12. Returns graded assignments in a timely fashion per department standards.

13. Maintains student attendance records (for Financial Aid purposes) and grades. 14. Conducts a variety of appropriate evaluations of student performance. Informs students of progress to date periodically and assigns and submits grades by published deadlines. 15. Assists in maintaining a safe and mutually respectful instructional environment. 16. Follows and abides by the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities Policy.

17. Handles/responds to student concerns/complaints and responds to student communications and inquiries promptly (generally within 1-2 days). 18. Maintains professional appearance as defined by the discipline and/or College procedure. 19. Completes all required employee trainings. 20. Knows and enforces FERPA guidelines. 21.
