Job Summary
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program at SLCC offers introductory courses into the fields of Physical therapy. We are looking for a faculty to teach these intro courses. Classes may be taught in person, online, or through Concurrent Enrollment off site at partnering High Schools. This is a pooled position. The department reviews applications as positions become available. Please attach resume or curriculum vitae, copy of transcripts, or other documents for consideration.
In accordance with SLCC policy, adjunct positions are offered on a semester-by-semester basis with no guarantee of continued employment. Official transcripts are required for those who are offered employment within 30 days of hire.
- Effectively prepare and teach Physical Therapist Assistant introductory classes as stipulated in the course syllabi.
- Maintains accurate and complete student attendance records, grades, and other classroom documentation as applicable. Grades must be maintained on the College's learning management system.
- Demonstrate a depth of knowledge and understanding in the field of physical therapy.
- Participates in trainings and other responsibilities as assigned and approved.
- Responds to department and college communication within two business days.
- Accept other duties as assigned.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, culture, ethnic background, and abilities, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
- Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
