Job Summary:
The University of Utah seeks a motivated and student-centered Career Coach I to educate, guide, and prepare students for the transition from academic study to meaningful employment or advanced education. This position provides foundational career coaching services for students in the College of Engineering, including individual appointments, workshop facilitation, and career education programming. The Career Coach I supports students in exploring career pathways, developing professional skills, and navigating the job and internship search process.
The ideal candidate demonstrates a commitment to student development, strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.
Responsibilities- Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Higher Education, Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalency.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional work experience in roles/industries that are relevant for college graduates.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the position as outlined above.
