Intermediate Electrical Engineer – Stantec

The Integrated Design team collaborates across our Energy & Resources markets—including renewables, power delivery, oil and gas, mining, and more—to deliver innovative solutions on projects around the world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the electrical design and engineering portions of all project phases, from planning through post‑construction.
  • Plan, size, evaluate, select, and specify electrical systems in accordance with relevant codes, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct field investigations, liaise with clients, perform detailed studies, and prepare design calculations.
  • Write technical reports, deliver presentations to stakeholders, and develop construction packages (drawings and technical specifications).
  • Estimate construction costs, monitor and support construction, participate in commissioning, and contribute to business development activities.
  • Assist in leading project coordination meetings with internal team members and external consultants, owners, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Participate in client requirement meetings, value analysis, and cost estimating.
  • Support or lead technical sections of assigned proposal pursuits.
  • Develop and manage project scope, budget, design approach, staffing, and schedule in coordination with the project manager.
  • Coordinate across engineering disciplines to facilitate development of deliverables.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing lessons learned.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship for junior engineers and designers.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineering license required; eligibility for a PE license in any U.S. state.
  • 7+ years of engineering and design experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Office Location and Schedule
  • Typical office environment; field work may involve exposure to hazards such as construction, weather, and industrial operations.
  • Stantec offers a flexible work environment; preference for working from the office at least two days per week with hybrid arrangements open to discussion.
  • Locations:
    Arizona, Colorado, Utah.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites or other Stantec offices (~10% travel).
Pay Range
  • Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & various CA, NJ areas – Min Salary $85,000.00 – Max Salary $
Benefits Summary
