STRATA provides clients with professional geotechnical engineering, construction inspection, and material testing (CMT) services throughout the Intermountain West. We have been in business for over 50 years. Currently, STRATA has an open Laboratory Services Manager position in our new Salt Lake City (Sandy), Utah office.
Major ResponsibilitiesManaging laboratory services, including the day-to-day technical execution by safely performing, analyzing, and communicating laboratory test results to clients, and ensuring deliverables are timely, accurate, fiscally responsible, and high-quality reports.
Obtaining and maintaining equipment, accreditations, calibrations, and certifications associated with laboratory operations. Laboratory cleanliness and appearance are essential.
Accomplishing work in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and other protocols, which outline the operational procedures and requirements for STRATA’s laboratories and testing.
Coordinating and working closely with other managers, departments, and offices to ensure STRATA’s clients (internal and external) are provided with exceptional service efficiently and professionally, including resource sharing when possible.
Performing testing, inspections, laboratory, and project management, as the workload requires.
Hiring, leading, mentoring, and developing employees for continued professional development, while controlling risk and liability.
Setting the appropriate leadership example by endorsing and living our Core Values and ensuring a cohesive team that works well together and meets or exceeds goals.
Position Requirements- 10+ years of experience working in a construction services and materials testing laboratory.
- Must have the following industry certifications or the ability to pass all certifications within 90 days (In-Place Density Testing Technician, Embankment and Base Testing Technician, Concrete Testing Technician, Sampling, Reduction, and Density Testing Technician, Aggregate Testing Technician, Asphalt Testing Technician, Concrete Strength Testing Technician, Laboratory Testing Technician).
- Basic use of a computer and proficiency in Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
