Job Summary
Packsize is seeking a Testing and Development Manager to manage a team of testing and quality engineers who ensure Packsize machines and technology achieve quality and product requirements. The testing and development team supports the R&D team by testing, validating, and hardening machines throughout the development lifecycle. This position requires a deep knowledge of standard testing practices, experience leading people, and a continuous improvement mindset.
This person must be able to collaborate effectively both onsite and remotely, with a variety of team members across a wide range of functions, including R&D, operations, and quality assurance.
- Help the R&D team develop high-quality new products.
- Establish and maintain standard test procedures and best practices.
- Drive standardization and improvements in the testing process and system.
- Support the handoff from new product development to the field, technical support, and documentation teams.
- Hire, develop, coach, and provide feedback to team members.
- Maintain a great team culture and reputation.
- Advise leaders and the business on the long-term strategy, resources, and budgetary needs of the team.
- Work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment.
- Adapt to changing environments.
- Listen and communicate openly, honestly, and respectfully with different audiences, promoting dialogue and building consensus.
- Provide feedback and hold team members and suppliers accountable in a constructive, direct, and meaningful way.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Deep knowledge of hardware testing practices and procedures.
- Able to effectively manage the work efforts of individual contributors.
- Able to work closely with senior management on departmental issues.
- Must have: 3+ years experience as a manager, with direct reports.
- Must have: 6+ years experience in testing, R&D, or hardware quality environment.
