Project Environmental Engineer

Overview

AEEC is seeking an entry to mid-level field engineer (any discipline) to support activities associated with subsurface soil and groundwater remediation (design, operation, optimization, sampling, modeling, data compilation, data analysis, data presentation, reporting). Work also relates to air and wastewater treatment process engineering (air strippers, oil water separators, dissolved air flotation, flocculation, carbon adsorption, process piping design, air flow measurements, blower specifications, pump specifications).

Hydraulic concepts (friction loss, pump curves, blower curves, NPSH, etc.) are heavily emphasized. Strong verbal and written communication skills and standard computer skills are mandatory. The role includes a wide variety of work with an intense initial learning curve under the supervision and mentoring of highly qualified engineering and operational staff. Some travel will be required. The work will emphasize an initial involvement with field activities followed by a gradual transition into office engineering and management environments as skills develop.

Field activities will emphasize contractor oversight, data collection, system troubleshooting, PLC interaction, system operation, system repair, and general system maintenance. Office activities will support the engineering group for process engineering and reporting. Previous hands-on work experience related to anything mechanical (construction, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, farming, automotive, etc.) is valued.

• Perform field activities including contractor oversight, data collection, system troubleshooting, PLC interaction, system operation, system repair, and general system maintenance.
• Support office engineering tasks for process engineering and reporting.
• Contribute to design, operation, optimization, sampling, modeling, data compilation, data analysis, data presentation, and reporting.
• Travel may be required.
• Begin with an intense learning curve under supervision and mentoring by qualified staff, with gradual progression from field activities to office engineering and management responsibilities.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills and standard computer skills.
• Ability to learn quickly with mentorship from experienced staff; open to a wide variety of duties.
• Previous hands-on work experience related to mechanical fields (construction, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, farming, automotive, etc.) is valued.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, talk, hear, and occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds; specific vision abilities as described.
