Interested in powering the future of clean energy at the highest voltage?

Enbridge is seeking a High Voltage Power Specialist to join our Electrical Field Service Engineering team and serve as a critical technical authority for our power generating facilities across North America, with a primary focus on assets in Texas and the southern United States. In this role, you will be the first line of expert response for complex electrical and substation issues, providing leadership during service interruptions and ensuring the safe, reliable operation of wind, solar, and battery energy storage facilities!

As a senior technical specialist, you will lead high voltage troubleshooting, inspections, commissioning, and testing activities while mentoring field personnel and being responsible for contractor performance. You will apply deep power system expertise to diagnose failures, interpret test data, and drive corrective actions that improve asset reliability and reduce risk. Partnering closely with engineering and asset management teams, you will influence standards, operating practices, and long-term reliability strategies that support Enbridge’s growing renewable energy portfolio.

We look forward to your application!

What You Will Do
  • Provide advanced first-level response / Tier-1 troubleshooting leadership and support for complex electrical issues in substation facilities and all circuit power lines after service interruption. This includes remote support and leading in-person field diagnosis such as using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Lead, coordinate, and supervise high‑voltage and power system inspection, maintenance, installation, commissioning, and testing activities. This includes supervising internal and contractor resources, and providing mentorship, coaching, and technical quality assurance to ensure compliance with specifications, applicable codes, standards, and industry guidelines.
  • Develop and review technical documents including inspection reports, commissioning records, failure analyses, and corrective action plans. Ensure documentation clearly identifies deficiencies, risk impacts, and prioritized recommendations suitable for technical and management audiences.
  • Perform senior-level technical review and interpretation of electrical test results, vendor maintenance reports, protection and control data, and fluid analysis for substation equipment. Identify systemic issues, assess asset health and risk, and recommend optimized maintenance, repair, or replacement strategies.
  • Partner closely with electrical engineering and asset management teams to resolve recurring or high‑risk electrical issues across wind, solar, and battery energy storage facilities. Contribute subject‑matter expertise to the development, review, and continuous improvement of standards, work instructions, testing procedures, and operating practices.
  • Lead or serve as a key technical authority in electrical incident, equipment failure, and near‑miss investigations. Perform root cause analysis, develop corrective and preventive actions, and support implementation and verification of effectiveness.
  • Develop and review complex switching procedures, lock‑out/tag‑out plans, grounding plans, and energization sequences for routine and non‑routine work.
  • Provide technical mentorship and critical issue support to junior technologists and field personnel; act as a mentor and subject matter authority for high‑voltage power systems.
  • Support long‑term asset reliability initiatives, capital projects, and fleet‑wide improvements as assigned, in alignment with business unit objectives.
