Your Role:As a Controls Engineer, you will support, modify, and optimize industrial automation systems across customer sites throughout North America. This role focuses on upgrades and modifications to existing PLC programs, troubleshooting controls issues, and ensuring reliable system performance. You’ll work independently at times, represent the organization on‑site, and serve as a technical resource for customers and internal teams.
What You’ll Do:- Modify, upgrade, and troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLC‑based control systems in industrial environments
- Support automation systems including HMIs, drives, motors, and associated electrical components
- Diagnose electrical and controls‑related issues and implement corrective actions
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, and control drawings
- Assist with commissioning, startup support, and system optimization at customer facilities
- Collaborate with engineering and service teams to implement system improvements
- Provide clear documentation of changes, service work, and field modifications
- Travel up to 30–40% (primarily within North America) to support customer sites
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Software Engineering, or related field
- Hands‑on industrial controls experience (typically 3+ years preferred)
- Experience with Siemens PLCs and SEW drive systems is a plus
- Solid understanding of industrial automation, electrical systems, and troubleshooting
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities while the Controls Manager is traveling
- Strong communication skills and professionalism when working directly with customers
