** About the role
** The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the technical execution of electronic hardware design and realization of activities within product development and lifecycle support. The role focuses on engineering tasks of designing, developing, and maintaining of reliable electronic hardware solutions that meet system requirements, quality standards, manufacturing constraints and regulatory requirements throughout the product lifecycle. The Electrical Engineer contributes to the successful realization of robust products by translating technical requirements into efficient, safe, and high-performance hardware designs.
** What you’ll do
*** Design and develop hardware schematics that translate system and functional requirements into reliable and manufacturable machine solutions.
* Maintain and update hardware schematics and technical documentation throughout the machine lifecycle to ensure accuracy, traceability, and compliance.
* Select and apply hardware components in accordance with technical specifications, regulatory standards, and lifecycle requirements to ensure long-term availability and performance.
* Analyze hardware-related issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve system reliability.
* Document design decisions, test results, and engineering changes in line with internal processes to ensure transparency and knowledge retention.
* Ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and internal engineering guidelines to support safe and certifiable machine designs.
* Collaborate with software, mechanical, and systems engineering teams to achieve seamless system integration and optimal machine performance.
* Support operations in the acquisition, inspection, and deployment of hardware in machines, including coordination with external inspection bodies where required.
** What you’ll need
*** Experience in industrial automation and/or machine building
* Experience with the Machinery Directive, EN 60204-1, and UL508A
* Experience translating system and functional requirements into compliant electrical schematics.
* A completed Bachelor’s degree (HBO level) in Mechatronics, Electronics, or Industrial Automation
* Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering teams within a structured development process.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in diagnosing and resolving electrical and hardware-related issues.
** Nice to have
*** Fluent in Dutch and Frisian (Written & Spoken)
* Experience with EPLAN P8 and Pro Panel and functional design of large modular and configurable machines
