Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as an Electromechanical Engineer based in Salt Lake City, UT .
The Electromechanical Engineer applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing. Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems. What you will get to do:
* Design, develop, and implement manufacturing methods and assembly instructions.
* Implement Lean manufacturing techniques that are applicable to statistical process control across manufacturing environments.
* Work closely with production floor supervisors, technicians, operators, and other engineering disciplines to support day-to-day activities.
* Train technicians and operators on manufacturing techniques and procedures.
* Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions on process failures.
* Analysis of manufacturing yields and trends to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
* Interpret engineering drawings and recommend design changes to ease product manufacturability.
* Provide recommendations and justification for new tooling and equipment.
* Working with suppliers to ensure quality and conformance to specifications. The ideal candidate will:
* Be able to collaborate in a team environment, negotiate, and integrate different viewpoints.
* Be able to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result.
* Be able to effectively present data, actions, and conclusions to management.
* Possess strong written and oral communication.
* Have strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks. Basic Qualifications for the Electromechanical Engineer:
* Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or related STEM discipline with a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience with Bachelors degree or 6 years with Masters degree
* Experience working in a manufacturing facility.
* Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
* US citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications for the Electromechanical Engineer:
* Experience with data analysis software (Tableau, Matlab, Python, Excel, or others).
* Experience with Solid Works or equivalent software.
* Experience interpreting mechanical drawings, GD&T knowledge.
* Experience using Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing concepts.
* Experience working in a highly regulated industry with strict customer/process requirements.
* Experience implementing tools/processes to improve operator/production efficiency.
* Hands-on manufacturing experience in assembly and fabrication.
