Job Summary
We are pleased to announce a 1 year internship in the University of Utah Nanofab, generously sponsored by Texas Instruments (TI). In this position, the successful candidate will learn critical skills in process development and materials characterization while learning how to operate the state‑of‑the‑art equipment in the Nanofab. This will be an excellent preparatory experience for students who are looking to pursue a career in the semiconductor industry.
Responsibilities- Act as an ambassador for TI, guiding field trips to the Nanofab and the TI site in Lehi, UT approximately 1–4 times a year.
- Assist with the daily operations of the Nanofab Electron Microscopy and Surface Analysis lab, focusing on operating and learning the foundational principles of SEM, FIB, AFM, and sample preparation.
- Assist with Nanofab cleanroom process development and characterization: sputter deposition tools, lithography (contact, hi‑res lithography).
- Interact directly with researchers and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Junior for the school year.
- Majoring in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science.
- Minimum GPA of 3.5.
