Your new role

Ramboll is seeking Air Quality Lead Consultant candidates for an open position in our Salt Lake City office. The ideal candidate will be working in a challenging and dynamic environment that will include a detail‑oriented team and independent work.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead air permitting and compliance efforts, including performing dispersion modeling, preparing regulatory applicability determinations, and interpreting permit conditions to ensure adherence to state and federal requirements.
  • Calculate and maintain emissions data and tools, generate annual emissions inventories and greenhouse gas reports, and develop regulatory‑based compliance plans and summaries.
  • Conduct independent research on state and federal regulatory guidance, solve technical and regulatory problems, and deconstruct complex permit conditions for practical implementation.
  • Review and provide constructive feedback on work produced by team members; mentor junior staff to build technical capability.
  • Act as assistant project manager for UT and regional air quality projects: lead internal meetings, participate in client meetings, and coordinate project tasks.
Qualifications

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field, plus 5+ years of air quality experience; or a Master's degree plus 3+ years of air quality experience.
  • Skilled at creating emissions calculation workbooks and applying knowledge of typical emission sources, facility operations, and applicable standards.
  • Proficient in developing compliance plans and greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories.
  • Experienced with multiple air permitting programs, including local/state minor permits, Title V, and multi-state/jurisdictional permitting.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technical expertise across permitting, compliance, and emissions reporting tasks.

Salary Transparency Statement

At Ramboll, we are committed to fair and transparent compensation practices that support our people and our purpose of creating sustainable societies. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $82,029- $99,000 per year. This range reflects the compensation we reasonably expect to offer at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity.
