As we foster a culture of inclusion throughout our company and within our communities, we constantly ask ourselves:
What is our impact on the world?

Each and every role throughout our organization makes a difference in our ability to change the world for the better. The transportation industry is more than movement—it’s the foundation of connected, thriving communities. As part of HDR’s Transportation Business Group, you’ll help shape the systems that move people and goods safely, efficiently, and sustainably.

In the role of Rail Transit EIT, we’ll count on you to:

  • Support Rail Project Managers and Engineers to develop track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Develop design criteria, project guides, project meeting minutes, and project controls while supporting the Project Manager.
  • Work independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers on larger rail and transit projects.
  • Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Bentley, specifically ORD.
  • Support mentorship of entry‑level rail and transit staff.
  • Be familiar with and experienced in working with local agencies such as UDOT, UTA, and HVT.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of InRoads/InRail, Open Rail Designer, and/or Civil3D.
Required Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of Micro Station and/or AutoCAD.
  • An attitude and commitment to actively participating in our employee‑owned culture is a must.
