Role Description

Arcadis is currently searching for an Entry‑Level Geologist to join our Resilience Environment team in Salt Lake City, UT. The role involves both field and office work, with 50% to 75% of the time spent in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Project and Task Managers in planning and executing geotechnical and hydrology instrumentation installation, environmental site characterization, investigation, remediation tasks, and geochemistry laboratory work.
  • Support up to 30% of work in underground mine operations.
  • Conduct field work including site inspections, drilling/well installation oversight, soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling, and operation and maintenance of remediation systems; travel within the U.S. for up to two weeks at a time may be required.
  • Perform office tasks such as task coordination, data compilation and interpretation, cost estimating, health & safety plan preparation, work plan development, technical report writing, regulatory file reviews, proposal writing, project strategy development, schedule and budget management, and subcontract creation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, hydrology, and geology colleagues on relevant project work.
  • Support national emergency response teams for rapid protection of human health and the environment; travel and work outside standard business hours may be required.
  • Estimated travel and field work is up to 75% during the first two years, reducing to about 50% by the third year. Travel expenses are reimbursable.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's of Science in Geology, Engineering, or a closely related field (e.g., environmental, biological, physical science).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Science degree in Geology, Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Current OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER training.
  • Current MSHA 40‑hour surface and underground training.
Compensation

Salary range: $49,680 – $74,520 (actual salary based on experience, education, budget, and location).
