Overview

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract (J-Tech II). JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today s missions and tomorrow s global challenges.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Network Architecture & Design:
    Architect, engineer, and modernize the Range Communications Network (RCN), a large-scale industrial network environment, focusing on the integration of Juniper (MX, QFX, SRX) and Cisco routing and switching platforms.
  • Design & Document Solutions:
    Generate comprehensive design specifications, system architectures, rack elevations, and configuration templates to guide technical staff during installation and deployment phases.
  • Architect Advanced Services:
    Engineer and deploy core network services, including VLANs, VPLS, MPLS, OSPF, and BGP. Architect data center solutions using Juniper QFX hardware with VXLAN and EVPN.
  • Engineer Network Security:
    Implement network security baselines, including access control and firewall integration (e.g., Palo Alto, Juniper SRX, Cisco ASA), and architect routing infrastructure to support DoD Suite A/B encryption environments.
  • Architect Monitoring Solutions:
    Design, implement, and optimize network monitoring and management platforms (e.g., Solar Winds); define alerting thresholds and automated responses for daily system health tracking and Tier 1/2 triage.
  • Provide Technical Leadership:
    Serve as a Tier 3/4 escalation point for complex, service-impacting network anomalies beyond the resolution capabilities of operators and technicians.
  • Manage Wireless & RF Communications:
    Provide RF communications engineering and integration for DoD wireless network configurations, including point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, and MANET radio systems.
  • Provide Technical Project Support:
    Maintain technical responsibility for assigned tasks, generate Bills of Materials (BOMs), develop technical test plans, and collaborate with Program Management to ensure solutions align with schedule and budget constraints.
  • Liaise with Stakeholders:
    Act as a primary technical liaison for test activities, design reviews, and technical working group meetings with customers and project managers to define and verify system requirements.
  • Investigate & Innovate:
    Analyze complex network problems, propose innovative architectural solutions, and provide data-driven recommendations to leadership.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Education and Experience:

    A Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution with eight (8) years of related engineering experience, or an accredited Master of Science in Engineering with at least six (6) years of related experience, or an accredited Doctorate in Engineering with at least four (4) years of related experience.
  • Knowledge and

    Skills:

    Comprehensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering; ability to apply latest engineering developments to solve complex problems; working knowledge of computer systems and engineering tools; well-developed leadership, communication, and analytical skills; planning/organizational skills and ability to work under deadlines.
  • Security/Eligibility:
    Tasking is in support of a Federal Government Contract that requires U.S. citizenship. This job requires eligibility for a government security clearance and related licenses/certifications; inability to obtain or maintain the required clearance or license may affect employment.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds; constant sitting and computer use; continuous attention to documents and communication; travel to remote company work locations will be required.
