Position: Staff Hydrogeologist

Role Description

Arcadis seeks a Hydrogeologist for locations in Arizona, Colorado, Utah, or Nevada. The Hydrogeologist will support design and implementation of site characterization efforts, analyze data, and develop conceptual models to progress projects through site investigation, remedial evaluation, and closure. The role involves hydrogeologic evaluation, project scoping, proposal development, and report writing. Work is primarily office‑based with field assignments and occasional travel (up to 20%).

Hybrid remote and office arrangements depend on project and client needs.

Accountabilities
  • Develop and plan hydrogeologic investigations including aquifer parameter estimation, groundwater‑surface water interaction evaluation, and groundwater fate and transport evaluation.
  • Conduct analytical and/or numerical groundwater modeling and develop conceptual site models.
  • Prepare work planning documents and data‑summary reports.
  • Interact with diverse project teams across technical disciplines and geographies.
  • Communicate findings effectively to Arcadis staff and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hydrogeology, Hydrology, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of related experience.
  • Strong ability to interpret data, identify and address data gaps, and communicate investigation findings.
  • Ability to work independently and build teams to support diverse project needs.
Preferred:
  • Strong hydrogeologic skill set, including proficiency interpreting geologic conditions, aquifer hydraulics, and high‑resolution water‑level data sets.
  • Experience conducting contaminant fate and transport analyses (e.g., constituent concentration profiles, temporal and spatial variability, plume stability evaluation, capture‑zone analysis).
  • Experience evaluating groundwater‑surface water interactions.
  • Prior experience supporting mining projects and familiarity with inorganic/metals chemistry.
  • Proficiency using hydrogeologic modeling software such as AQTESOLV, MODFLOW, Groundwater Vistas, or HEC Software.

Salary

The salary range for this position is $68,400 - $114,000. Actual salaries will vary based on experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
