Senior Mechanical Engineer; HVAC​/Plumbing - Salt Lake , UT

A well-established MEP consulting firm is launching a new Salt Lake City office and seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC/Plumbing) with 6–15 years of building design experience and an active PE. This hybrid role combines hands‑on design, client coordination, and project leadership across healthcare, education, government, commercial, and institutional facilities, with significant growth and leadership potential.

• Lead HVAC and plumbing system design for complex building projects
• Develop system approaches, equipment selections, and mechanical room layouts
• Coordinate directly with clients, architects, and internal disciplines
• Lead projects through design and construction phases
• Produce and review 3D Revit models and 2D CAD drawings
• Perform and review engineering calculations and specifications
• Generate equipment selections, schedules, and documentation
• Conduct site observations and prepare construction administration reports
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to the growth of the new Salt Lake City office

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• 6–15 years of HVAC and/or plumbing design experience in a building consulting environment
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Strong knowledge of commercial and institutional mechanical systems
• Working knowledge of applicable mechanical codes, standards, and regulations
• Proficiency in Revit (required) and AutoCAD
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail with a collaborative, professional attitude
