Job Schedule: 9/80 – 2nd shift – 3:30pm‑1:00am – employees work 9 out of every 14 days, totaling 80 hours worked, and have every other Friday off
The System Engineer – Test position owns the test process, including concept, design, root cause analysis, and corrective action. This engineer becomes a subject matter expert through collaboration with Design and Systems Engineering and applies that knowledge to create and refine test processes implemented by Testers and Technicians in Operations. When issues arise, this engineer determines the cause and implements corrective action to prevent future, similar failures.
EssentialFunctions
- Define, trace and maintain test process requirements
- Test procedure creation and maintenance
- Improve test yield through root cause and corrective action
- Create product related technical information in support of Operations
- Ensure overall technical performance for Test Engineering developments
- Work with Engineering to facilitate the transition of products from design to production
- Provide input to Engineering to support product life cycle management
- Project manage Test Engineering development
- Mentor engineers with less experience
- Provide input to organizational vision
- Provide technical test consultation to internal organizations, contract manufacturers or customers
- Represent Test Engineering in technical discussions to outside organizations
- Evaluate contract manufacturers’ capabilities to provide required products or services
- Participate in product design reviews
- Support manufacturing floor to help overcome production issues
- ABET (EAC/CAC) accredited Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of directly related work experience in engineering
- Experience with applied Systems Engineering
- Strong Electrical Engineering skills in both digital and RF domains
- Project management experience
- Leadership experience
- Presentation and communication skills (verbal/written/visual)
- Problem‑solving skills
- Ability to meet critical deadlines
- Ability to collaborate, contribute, and support a team environment to ensure project success
- Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
- Ability and willingness to travel
