Position is responsible for collecting geological and geotechnical data by logging core and chips collected from drilling operations and updating the applicable geologic models.
Your Role:
- Modify the mine geology model from core logging on a regular basis.
- Communicate applicable geologic information to Mine Planning and Geotechnical engineers.
- Assist in yearly geologic map updates.
- Contribute to special projects, e.g., NARD, rock crusher, sampling, drilling supervision, generation of geologic cross sections, etc.
- Develop and maintain appropriate project documentation.
- Interact with personnel and external consultants for interpretation of geology and geologic information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Geology or related field.
- Candidates should have 1-3 years of basic geologic work experience including mapping, preferably in a porphyry copper mining application.
- MSHA certification preferred Will take entry level candidates willing to learn.
- Candidate must be able to lift and handle geologic core samples for analysis.
- Proficiency with Microsoft office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
